Doors Wide Open for #FriFotos

This week’s theme is DOORS.  Being an architecture junkie, I had to share some of my door shots. And, no, there are no Georgian doors from Dublin in this collection.  That would be too obvious, plus I lost my early photos from Ireland (in 2004). Womp womp.

View of the door of the Pantheon from the interior. Yeah gigantic, ancient bronze doors!

The cutest elderly couple ever admiring the medieval tympanum at Grossmunster Cathedral in Zurich.

Classic Elvis door in a bar in Jackson, Mississippi.

Inlaid wood door in the Harem of the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul.

Chinese style architecture for the doorway to a bank in Chinatown, San Francisco.

My parents in front of the best door in the world: the St. James's Gate to the Guinness Factory Storehouse in Dublin.

Doorway to the courtyard of the Green Mosque on the Asian side of Istanbul.

Too bad i missed this week’s theme. I love doors (and windows)! These are really nice– i especially like the moment you captured of the old couple.

Doors and windows always seem to capture the feeling of a place, don’t you think?

That couple makes me smile every time I look at the photo 🙂
