But I like gelato better, so I’m making it National Gelato Month. Thanks to Twitter, I’ve developed a bit of a stalkerish obsession with Bravo Gelato here in Nashville. I first got caught in their flavorful web in March with their Yazoo Stout in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. Not as good as a Guinness, but it was pretty darn close.

Then they rolled out the glorious concoction of Maple Bacon using Benton’s bacon. It’s a little potent at first, but once you surrender to the smokiness, the maple shines through to bind the flavors together. Then Salty Caramel was my flood relief flavor of choice.
Now, this glorious marriage of flavors reigns supreme. Cruze Buttermilk paired with Cinnamon Cayenne Chocolate Chip. Ooooooooooooooooooo!!! It’s like the dessert version of Bhojanic’s thali platter. All sorts of flavors: sweet, spicy, and sour all rolled into one. I really have a problem. I’m a gelato addict. Admitting it is the first step, right?
